6- Week Beginner Derby Street Running Clinic Mile:
Tuesday evenings @ 6:30 PM from July 14 through August 18. (July 14, 2009)
Entry into the Derby Street Mile on August 21, and technical race tee shirt included in fee.
Meet at Salem Common Gazebo. Bring a water bottle.
This clinic is for beginners who have never run a full mile. We will use a
walk/run interval training program that will build you up to running a full

12 Week Marathon and ½ Marathon Training
Always wanted to try a marathon? Are you stuck running the same times? Tired of running alone? This 12 week program will guide you through training for a fall 1/2 and full marathon and is open to runners of all abilities. Athletes meet 2x a week, once for an organized workout and once for an organized long run. An individualized program is recommended but not required.
When: Thursdays – Saturdays July 23-Sept 28
Time and Place: Bertram Field Track at 6:30pm and at long runs on Saturday mornings at 7am
Who: Athletes of all levels, ages 13+.

Course:The course is going to be one of the best around! We will start down by Salem Willows and follow Rt. 114 into Marblehead up around the neck and down through historic Salem, Derby Street and back to the Willows to finish. The only big hills are on the Marblehead neck - there are a few other hills on the course but nothing major. There will be plenty of volunteers and police keeping the runners safe.
